[Wilson/Signed] President Woodrow Wilson, 2 signed documents: 1) Signed Naval commission, July 30, 1913, Partially printed vellum document, signed Woodrow Wilson appoints Irwin D. Coyle as "Passed Assistant Paymaster in the Navy with the rank of Lieutenant junior grade" Vignettes at top and bottom show an eagle and mythological figures including Neptune, and a figure with American flag and Liberty Cap respectively. The lower vignette frames the official blue seal. 2) Irwin Dunn Coyle's Princeton University graduation diploma. Vellum. The two items are framed together. Frame dimensions: 36"x17.25". Both signatures are somewhat faded, but legible.
Condition Both have creasing and the effects of water/humidity infiltration, particularly the Princeton diploma, which also has irregular brown markings.
