Ancient Near East, northwestern Iran, Luristan, ca. 1000 to 600 BCE. A wonderful cast-bronze spear point with a slender profile, a prominent midrib extending from tang to tip, rounded blade fins, and a short tang which flattens near the terminal. The edges still retain some sharpness, and the entire weapon is covered in lustrous layers of green and russet patina. Custom wooden display stand included. Size: 9.625" L x 1.875" W (24.4 cm x 4.8 cm); 11.375" H (28.9 cm) on included custom stand.
Provenance: private Lexington, Kentucky, USA collection, acquired in the late 1990s from Joel Malter, Los Angeles, California, USA

Minor nicks to tip, edges, and tang, with slight bending to overall form, and light encrustations, otherwise intact and very good. Light earthen deposits and great green and russet patina throughout.
