Description
A gold pendant with Greek silver coin from Tarentum, South Italy. The silver nomos or didrachm from Tarentum, Calabria, c. 260 - 272 BC, depicts a helmeted warrior on horseback to left on one side and the mythical youth Taras riding a dolphin on the other. The beautiful coin is set into a custom 14k gold bezel and ready to wear. 32 x 26 mm, 12,35g. Cf: Vlasto 792. Ex Los Angeles private collection.
