Provenance: Believed to have been acquired from the artist by Laura and Constantine Mako (Beverly Hills) prior to 1968. Sold to the former owner, now deceased, in 1968. Thence by descent to his heirs.

Laura Mako was a much-admired Beverly Hills celebrity decorator, whose clients included Jimmy Stewart, Danny Kaye, Gregory Peck, and Gerald & Betty Ford. Laura Mako was married to American tennis player and art gallery owner, Constantine Mako, who was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 1973.
