Description
(1918-1970) Second President of Egypt, led the revolt against the Egyptian monarchy and then deposed the democratically-elected president, Mohamed Naguib. Nasser also nationalized the Suez Canal, sparking the Suez Crisis, and promoted Pan-Arabism. Rare signed and inscribed book, his political treatise "Egypt's Liberation: The Philosophy of the Revolution" (published in German as "Die Philosophie der Revolution"), (Cairo: "Mondiale" Press), [n.d., circa 1955], 78pp. 8vo. Nasser signs on the title page in black ink, adding the English dedication "To Mr. David Fredborg with my best wishes", and the date "9. 4. 1958". The paper covers are slightly loose and show some wear, else very good.
