The Milgauss was created in the late 1950s as the result of a collaboration between CERN, the famed European nuclear research organization, and Rolex. Rolex developed a clean, legible, and nicely sized piece, complete with a special Faraday cage surrounding the movement which could protect the watch from magnetic fields as powerful as 1000 gauss. This of course is the origin of the name Milgauss. The present example has a beautiful unpolished case and original silver dial, hands, and luminous material. A real treat for the discerning collector.

Dial with very faint grey spots concentrated on the lower half of the dial and visible only under 10x loupe. Hands with slight signs of age. Luminous material in the dial and hands fully intact, slightly darker on the dial, and appears original to the watch. Case likely unpolished with light scratches consistent with age and wear. Movement running at time of cataloging. Overall in very nice condition.
