Drawing is 10.25" x 14.75" in a frame 17.25" x 13"////////////////////////////////////////(From the Nat Portrait Gallery website):"Lady Eileen Wellesley(1887-1952), Artist; wife of Captain Cuthbert Julian Orde; daughter of 4th Duke of Wellington.///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////David's notes:Not much is available online about this artist who was born into British aristocracy, being one of many children whose father was the Duke of Wellington.She married a Captain in the army and is described in the National Portrait gallery as "an artist".The only known art auctioned in the last 20 years that we could find is the same drawing we are offering for sale,"German in a pierrot town" in 1997 it sold at Sotheby's in England for 999.00(refer Artprice.com).The drawing itself is a strange Beardsley style fantasy of a German in a landscape populated by odd characters and pixies.From a NYC estate.Similar to children's book illustration with a political bent.
