Author: Wedworth Wadsworth - Wedworth Wadsworth was born in Buffalo, New York and as a young boy Wedworth spent his summers in Durham with relatives and through this connection developed a lifelong love for the town. At a young age he developed a passion for art. He became an accomplished artist in Brooklyn, New York, where he became a member of the Salmagundi Club of New York, the New York Water Color Club, the New York Black and White Club, and the Brooklyn Art Club.

Wadsworth was an accomplished author and illustrator as well. He wrote and illustrated "Leaves from an Artist's Field Book", illustrated "The Song of the Brook" by Alfred Tennyson, illustrated "A Winter's Walk with Cowper", illustrated "Under the Greenwood Tree with Shakespeare", and illustrated "Through Wood and Field with Tennyson".

Book Details: Decoratively bound in green cloth with an illustrated gilt-embellished cover, this very scarce antique volume is further enhanced by full-edge gilt and floral endpapers. Each page of poetry appears with an illustration by the author.
Condition / Notes: This beautiful antique title shows well with some typical indications of age and wear, including shelfwear and rubbing. The binding and text block are sound. Text and illustrations remain clear and crisp through mild age toning. Pages have very faint water marking along top and bottom edges.
