Book Details: This very handsome oversized volume presents in decorative Victorian gilt binding with black stamped accents and gilt pages edges.

This ornate, large format book features 24 beautiful full-page tissue-guarded illustrations depicting the engravings of Sir Edwin Landseer. The illustrated subjects are mostly animals. The volume also includes a biographical section with extensive information about English artist Sir Edwin Henry Landseer's life and career.

Condition / Notes: This Victorian gilt antique volume shows well bound in dark green cloth over beveled boards, with embossed lettering against a gold field on the spine, stamped gilt lettering and ornamental designs on the front cover.

The books show some age/wear externally concentrated at the extremities, including minor loss at the top/bottom of the spine and at the outside corners. The binding is sound. The text and illustrations show beautifully and pages are bright and clean sporadic light foxing.

There is an ink gift inscription on the front free end paper from 1902.
