Description

Allegorical group figure, two elf boys arm wrestle on goats.
A rare allegorical group study by Charles Vyse introduced in 1924. It is modeled as two young elfin boys dressed in Grecian tunics–one lavender purple with a green belt with yellow decoration, the other caramel brown with a white pattern–each seated on a wooly gray ram, engaged in playful arm wrestling. The goats wear colorful, long blue and lavender purple blankets, and stand on a spectacularly decorated flora base. Incised C VYSE CHELSEA.
