Pre-Columbian, Western Mexico, Colima, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A hand-built terracotta flute with the figure of a warrior just below the mouthpiece who wears a helmet with coil-made elements at the top and over the ears with a long strap below. Plays quite well, with 4 holes for changing pitch / tune. Size: 8.25" H (21 cm); 9.5" H (24.1 cm) on included custom stand.

Loss to tip of headdress. Spall to tip of helmet chin strap. Manganese deposits, most evident to lower end but also above.
