**Originally Listed At $200**

Ancient Near East, Sumeria, ca. 3rd to 2nd millennium BCE. A fabulous necklace composed of dozens of small stone and faience seed beads - in white, red, and periwinkle hues - arranged in a ladder-style formation. The 'steps' of the ladder section are comprised of petite abstract cylindrical, triangular, diamond, and conical faience beads in hues of cream and sky-blue, with some boasting miniscule incised linear or crosshatch patterns. The beads are suspended and arranged with modern string, and gold-filled crimps and a gold-filled barrel clasp completing the elegant presentation. Strung in modern times and wearable as shown, this is a wonderful example! Size (necklace): 15" L (38.1 cm); size (largest bead): 0.4" W (1 cm).

Provenance: ex-private Shenas collection, Queens, New York, USA
