This lot consists of a hand drawn mixed media (pastel and ink) on paper, hand signed "Jean Michel Basquiat" at bottom left. This vibrant composition features a looming, skeletal figure sporting a fancy top hat, spewing nonsense words from his mouth and surrounded by dozens of letters, symbols, and nearly-hidden messages. The pigment of the pastels really pops against the red paper, making this piece a visual treat with true resonance. Done in the expressionist style of modern artist Jean-Michel Basquiat (American, 1960-1988). Unframed piece measures approximately 19.25" x 19.5".
