Charming and creative reproduction antique fold out lap writing desk with a assortment of storage areas and distressed finish. This piece has a wood panel with a chalk board surface. Early pieces may have had a fragile heavy slate in its place.
Pieces like this were used as portable desks throughout the 18th and 19th century for war and travel by men and women alike.
This piece flips open exposing a large compartment that also flips open. The inkwell compartment sizes vary so please contact me about the size.... Note it also has a small center compartment between the inkwell locations.
