Author: Cecil Aldin - Cecil Charles Windsor Aldin was a British artist and illustrator best known for his paintings and sketches of animals, sports, and rural life. Aldin executed village scenes and rural buildings in chalk, pencil and also wash sketching. He was an enthusiastic sportsman and a Master of Fox Hounds, and many of his pictures illustrated hunting. Aldin's early influences included Randolph Caldecott and John Leech.

Book Details: This antique volume is bound in brown paper-covered boards with a green cloth backstrip. The front cover has red lettering and a pictorial design depicting a white dog. This title has full-page color illustrations and black line drawings. The verso of the title page states: "Printed by Thos. Forman and Sons, Nottingham, England". "The White Puppy Book" is the diary of Snowball the puppy who lives at the Briary.
Condition / Notes: This antique title shows very well with minimal indications of age and wear, including mild shelfwear and rubbing to high points. The color illustrations remain vibrant, and the pages exhibit some age toning/foxing. There is a small book shop label from "Whaler Book Shop" in New Bedford, and a personal inscription on the front endpaper.
