This catalog presents a select arrangement of rare, antique and decorative books. Featured are important theological works dating back to the early 1600?s. Easton Press deluxe bindings will be offered along with an eclectic array of rare antique through modern volumes including signed, limited and special editions. Antique and rare books are numerous in this catalog. Among the earliest examples are the 1656 printing of de Gand?s ?Parallelum Olivae Nec Non Olivarii Serenissimi Celsissimi Potentissimique,? Sylvii?s ?Commentarii in Totam Primam Secundae S. Thom. Aquinatis,? produced in an oversized format in 1696, and the 1668 printing of Beuvelet?s ?Le Symbole des Apostres.? Additional interesting selections include the large format three-volume 1770 edition of Dodd?s ?Commentary on the Books of the Old and New Testament,? Watson?s ?A Tour in Holland in MDCCLXXXIV by an American,? published in 1790, and Buncher?s 1953 limited edition art history work, ?Tretchikoff,? bearing an original signature by the artist. Several desirable collections will also be showcased. A quantity of antique multi-volume sets include deluxe fancy bindings and rare examples such as the limited Seawood Edition of ? The Works of Booth Tarkington,? bearing an original signature by the author, a leather-bound limited edition of ?The Complete Works of John Ruskin,? complete in thirty volumes, and Scribner?s Outward Bound Edition of ?The Writings in Prose and Verse of Rudyard Kipling,? printed in 25 volumes in 1911. Other collections include children?s books signed by Maurice Sendak and mammoth antique volumes relating to New York State such as volumes from the Fruits of New York series, paleontological plates from 1860, and more. Also offered are two tightly limited and elaborate works from Bird & Bull Press, presenting titles by Henry Morris.
