This Vintage Culver Valencia Decanter Set with Wine Glasses are in Excellent Condition! No chips, loss of gold or flea bites. Rack is in very good condition. A little background: Culver Ltd was founded in Brooklyn, New York in 1939 by Irving Rothenberg and featured stunning decorative glassware with 22-karat gold accents from the late 1950's through the 1960's. Highly collectible and only sold in high-end department stores, Culver Glass' early production line featured acid etch, decalcomania, sandblasted, hand-painted, banded, sand-cut monogramming, and silk screen. In the late 1950's, Culver Ltd started the application of the 22-karat gold to their glassware. The gilded Moroccan-style trellis and raised emerald-green diamonds of the "Valencia" pattern became their most popular pattern in cocktail ware. Culver Glass from the 1940's through the 1950's was signed with a script Culver. The Culver mark changed to block lettering in the late 1960's through the 1970's and after the 1970's was typically unmarked when the company changed to paper labels attached to the glass.
This most likely is from the 70’s -80’s since I see no markings. Each wine glass measures 5.75" tall with a 2.5" diameter rim and 2-3/8" diameter base while the decanter measures approximately 10.75" tall (including stopper) and 4.25" diameter base. This gorgeous "Valencia" cocktail set with 22-karat gold Moroccan style accents would make a gorgeous addition to any in home bar service!
