Item Details
Description
From an 8th-9th century Chinese court tomb, an engraved and gold gilded ladie's hair pin, a rare burial survivor, the rather frail silver bathed copper
could only have lasted and maintained its integrity, in particularly arid burial conditions. The staff top engraved in florid design, the background filled
with the expected tiny circular punch marks as in most all Tang Dynasty silver and other metalwork. Untouched, uncleaned, 7" tall. Together with
an early to ancient, a post 14th c, Spearhead, unknown Asia.
Probably from Java in Indonesia, possibly Malaysia. As some rare keris or kris blades,
this spear head blade is compounded from the folding in of high nickle-iron imbued meteorite in the hammered forging process.
In antique times, Meteoric blades are very rarely seen other than of knife form. Fine condition, natural untouched state without cleaning or rust.
6 1/2 " long.
