Description
Ancient Near East, Syro-Hittite, ca. 1180 to 700 BCE. A hand-built terracotta equestrian figure riding on a horse. The figure, while fragmentary, has a flat composition, a head adorned with a pointed cap and a bushy beard, and an equine head projecting from the front of his chest. Custom lucite display stand included. Size: 1.125" W x 4.125" H (2.9 cm x 10.5 cm); 4.875" H (12.4 cm) on included custom stand.

Condition
This is a fragment of a larger figure. Minor nicks to legs, body, and both heads, with softening to some finer details, and light encrustations. Nice earthen deposits throughout.
