Description
Egypt, Graeco-Roman Period, ca. 2nd to 1st century BCE. A lovely terracotta head formed in a mold with a stocky neck and stylized facial features. The head depicts an African male with ovoid eyes beneath arched brows, a wide nose, full lips flanked by nicely-contoured cheeks, and a rounded chin, all covered in pale orange slip. His intricate visage is framed by a centrally-parted coiffure, and his head is topped with a diagonally-striated cap. Custom wooden display stand included. Size: 2" W x 2.375" H (5.1 cm x 6 cm); 3.625" H (9.2 cm) on included custom stand.
