Inked plan is on drafting linen, measuring 69x94 cm (27¼x37"). The pencil plans are on paper, measuring 149x56 cm (58x22") & 85x46 cm (33½x18¼").
Well-executed original plans for the massive project of damming the Colorado River. The ink plan is titled "General Map Showing Features of Work," and shows a portion of the Colorado, the dam, gateways, pumps, bypasses, railway lines, telephone lines, power lines, tunnels, a plan of Boulder City, etc. The larger pencil plan, titled "General Plan Low Level Mixing Plant," has designs for mixing and cement plants, track hoppers, etc. The smaller pencil plan is of the "Proposed RR Location for Pile Trestle Xing near Gravel Pit." Work on the dam started in 1931, so these are evidently some of the earliest plans for it.
