The 1933 National Chicle Sky Birds, which featured World War I fighter pilots, are numbered 1 to 24. The 1934 National Chicle Sky Birds cards start at 25 and are numbered to 108. National Chicle's original plan in 1934 was to issue another 24 cards but increased the set size due to its popularity. As a result, cards numbers 25 to 48 originally stated that they were part of "a series of 48 cards", which was changed to "a series of 144 cards" in a later printing.
