White carriage decorated with hand painted Cherubs to one panel.
An antique crank telephone produced by the Kj'benhavns Telefon Company of Denmark ca. 1895. Manufactured with a white carriage decorated with a hand painted design of Cherubs to one panel. The phone includes a crank to one side, with a rotary dial including black numerals, and a gilt tone placeholder for the receiver. Gilt tone and black Bakelite Roman column style receiver. Manufacturer stamp to the top marked K.T.A.S. Because Denmark comprises a series of islands and a piece of mainland Europe, it had special difficulties with early telephone service. KTAS served the Danish capital, Copenhagen, beginning in 1882.
