Belle Epoque desk set telephone, chrome Mother in Law receiver.
A large late 19th century Belle Epoque Era antique desk set telephone with second chrome Mother in Law receiver earpiece unique to French telephones. Only a small number of these phones survived. Manufacturer brass plate with the name and address of the manufacturer, SOCIETE INDUSTRIELLE DES TELEPHONES 25 RUE DU 4 SEPTEMBRE, PARIS, SYSTEME G. BAILLEUX BTE. S.G.D.G. Antique metal patina. Bakelite on receiver earpieces. Original cord. The Societe Industrielle des Telephones (Industrial Telephone Society) was formed in 1880 in Paris, France to exploit the patents of Edison, Gray and Louis F. C. Breguet.
