Description
A pair of late nineteenth century silver import figural sugar nips, modelled with a gentleman holding a case in one hand and an upright umbrella in the other to form the scissor action, hallmarked Berthold Muller, Chester 1898 with the Foreign mark, length 4 1/2 inches (11.5 cm). Together with a pair of Irish silver scissor action sugar nips with shell grips, hallmarked Dublin 1919 with maker's mark 'J.S'. Weight 2.89 ozt (90 grams). (2).
Condition
Both pairs displaying some general expected surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing. Scissor action on both appears in working order. Very slightly out of alignment but overall still good. Some rubbing and loss of surface detail to the figural pair. Irish pair with heavier tarnishing. Hallmarks legible with a little rubbing/distortion.
