Description
A Graeco-Roman terracotta head of a youthful male, c. 1st Century AD, with features resembling Alexander the Great, with long flowing locks to his neck and tied knot at the top of his head. The head has been worn by water, but pleasant detail still remains in the face and hair. H: 7 1/4 in (18.4 cm). With black marble base. Ex Bronfman collection, Canada, acquired between the 1960's and 80's, the collection formed mainly through acquisitions from Charles Ede Ltd, and Christie's.
