Description
A group of two hand-colored prints [after] by artist J.J. Juillet, 18th-century. The images depict illustrations of butterflies and were initially created after works by artist J.J. Ernst. Titles “Le Petit Cellier Argente” and “L'ecaille noire et rouge” printed in plate, lower center. One has additional title “Jesus de la fem” in upper center. “J.J. Ernst Pinxit” printed lower left of image. J.J. Juillet Sculp” printed lower right of image. Numbers “P.V.4” and "P.V.5” are printed lower right of images. Each measure 8” x 6.25” (20.25cm x 15.75cm) image size, 12-7/8” x 9.25” (32.75cm x 23.5cm) sheet size. Both are unframed, loose and not glued or mounted. Provenance: C.D. Raymond & Son collection.
