Description
A fine Chinese Han Dynasty circular bronze mirror. Cast in low relief, with perforated knob handle / boss through which a cord would have been threaded for ease of holding. The knob handle is encircled by a dragon and a mythological beast or antelope alternating with figures in worship. Aged mottled turquoise colored patina. Measures 5.75" diameter.
PROVENANCE: Ex. collection of General Joseph Warren Stilwell (1883-1946) via his grandson, son of Winifred Stilwell Cox (daughter of General Stilwell).
