Pair of Chinese Qing Dynasty red and white bile bottle vases. Potted in tear shaped bellies, gently leading to a tall cylindrical neck and narrow opening, raised on a splayed concave foot base. Deep red colored underglaze depictions of dragons painted masterfully across the white underglaze ground. Both bottles elegantly displayed upon elaborately carved hardwood stand. Underbase with Qianlong six characters reign mark in underglaze blue, Qing Dynasty.

PROVENANCE:
James Barnes (1939-2016) of Memphis, TN; survived by two sisters who have decided to sell some of his treasured collections to fund charitable foundations that he was actively involved in. These collections were inherited from his Father-in-law (Kenneth Harlin) at his passing in 1967. Mr. Harlin had an early film career in the 1920-1930s as an international traveler he was able to bring back treasures from around the world.
