A PAIR OF ROYAL VIENNA STYLE TRANSFER PRINTED PORCELAIN PORTRAIT PLATES, GERMANY, CIRCA 1880-1918, the shaped lobed plates with gilt rim over claret glazed lobes with gilt lyre, laurel branch, and acanthus leaf decoration framed by raised gilt dot border, the inner rim with mat gilt acanthus scroll on burnished ground, the centers with transfer printed portraits of beautiful young ladies with hand painted bodice, titled on the back in gilt "Amorosa" and "Felicitas," with green mark for the Porzellanfabrik Zeh, Scherzer & Co., Rehau, Germany (manufacturer of the porcelain blank), gilt "ROYAL VIENNA" over crown and modified beehive marks, the "Amorosa" example also with impressed clover leaf. In overall fair to good condition with rubbing and loss to gilt rims, minor surface rubbing overall commensurate with age and use, no evidence of chips, nicks, or cracks.
