CHRISTIAN FABRONIUS (GERMAN-AMERICAN, B. 1804) LANDSCAPE PAINTING oil on canvas, intricate depiction of a sun-dappled mountain stream in a forest interior, signed "FABRONIUS / APRES FLICKER" lower right. Housed in a 19th-century gilt and gesso frame. Circa 1860. 19 1/2" x 26 1/2" sight, 31 1/2" x 37 1/2" OA.
Painting in very good visual condition with minor abrasions and surface losses at extreme edges. Frame with very minor wear.
Catalogue Note: Born in Germany, Christian Fabronius (b. 1804) is recorded, along with his brother, Dominique, working as an artist and lithographer in Cincinnati in 1858.
