Description
SOUTHERN, POSSIBLY VIRGINIA, PAINTED MAPLE LADDERBACK ARM CHAIR bold rail-and-spindle form, three-slat back, turned arm rests, woven-rush seat, and double box stretcher. Retains an early, possibly original, red-painted surface. Possibly Southside Virginia. Late 18th/early 19th century. 40" HOA, 17 1/2" x 20 1/2" seat.
Seat replaced. Feet ended out approximately 4 3/4". Old repair to proper left front leg.
