Description
Blomefield Style 6 Pounder Smooth Bore Muzzle Loader Iron Cannon 45 1/2", 3 1/2" bore, 16" trunnion, having a Crown mark and "6Pr" on top, set into replica 4 truck stepped oak naval carriages, 29" x 32" x 19". Cleaned and in stoveblack finish. Thomas Blomefield, Master General of Ordnance, designed this gun as a replacement for the less reliable Armstrong-Frederick pattern, it was the standard in the Royal Navy by 1794.
