North America, Native American, Arizona, Phoenix, Maricopa Reservation, ca. early 20th century CE; New Mexico, northwest of Santa Fe, San Ildefonso Pueblo, ca. early 20th century CE. A lovely duo of hand-built terracotta vessels. First is a San Ildefonso Pueblo blackware pouring vessel with a highly-burnished exterior, stable base, tall spouted mouth, and a large strap handle. Second is a burnished redware vessel from the Maricopa Indians with a slight concave base, bulbous body, a slender neck, and a wide mouth with a flared rim. Black-painted abstract linear motifs adorn the exterior, with traces of similar pigment along the rim. A fantastic ensemble! Size (blackware): 5.25" L (13.3 cm); size (redware): 5" H (12.7 cm).

Condition
Both vessels have age-commensurate surface wear, small nicks and chips to rims and bodies, with fading and some fire-clouding to coloration, otherwise intact and very good. Blackware vessel has old inventory sticker on base.
