Description
A custom-made white straitjacket with "State Mental Hospital" stenciled on the front in black and "Ward D" on the right arm, worn by Vince Neil on the cover of Mötley Crüe's 1989 Dr. Feelgood album. The jacket has a black leather lace-up back and multiple metal clasps throughout. Accompanied by a typed, signed letter of authenticity from Terri King, Mötley Crüe's costume and wardrobe designer from 1989 to 1994. In the letter, King states that she designed the straitjacket, and Neil wore it during the album photoshoot. King constructed the straitjacket using a special technique involving the layering of elastic, which allows the costumes to fit without prior sizing of the band members due to the tight time frame. The stenciling of the words was done while the band was in makeup and between shots. Also accompanied by a copy of the Classic Mötley Crüe: The Universal Masters Collection CD that features an image from the photoshoot.
