Pair of Harrison Forman's "little black books," containing information for various publications, embassy contacts, press ministers, movie studios, airlines, and various press contacts in places around the globe. Each measuring 6" x 4". These have travelled far and wide, they would have been used extensively by Forman, and the condition reflects this: some staining, tearing, general wear and signs of use. As-is. **************************** From the collection of Harrison Forman. Harrison Forman (1904-1978), known as a modern “Marco Polo,” was a photographer, reporter, and author of several books. Most notably, Forman provided some of the earliest photographic images of Tibet. He also interviewed Mao Zedong and covered China during World War II. While best known for his work in Asia, Forman travelled extensively and provided numerous photos and reports from locations around the globe. His reports and photos appeared in The New York Times, National Geographic, and other publications. He authored several books and also collaborated with Frank Capra on the 1937 film, “Lost Horizon” (Forman’s copy of the script to be offered in this sale.) Provenance: Acquired from the family of Harrison Forman.
