"The Journey To Moon-Goose Land----Mrs. Brownlee had always said that her children should have fine-sounding, dignified names if she had anything to do with it.So, one day, seven years ago the first of April, when two big boy babies and one tiny girl all arrived together, Mrs. Brownlee had quite enough to do to find names for the triplets. Mr. Brownlee himself refused to name even one of them; for he was almost stunned at the coming of three little sprites at one time, for him to feed, to house, to clothe and to teach...

Elenore Plaisted Abbott [1875-1935] was born in Lincoln, Maine. She studied in Pennsylvia and Paris before entering Drexel Institute in 1899. She was influenced significantly by Howard Pyle, her instructor at the Drexel Institute. Her illustrations appeared in many magazines of the time, such as "Saturday Evening Post", "Harper's Magazine", and "Scribner's". She also illustrated books including Stevenson's "Kidnapped" and "Treasure Island"; Johann David Wyss's "Swiss Family Robinson", Louisa May Alcott's "Old Fashioned Girl", and the "Grimm's Fairy Tales" and Defoe's "Robinson Crusoe". She married fellow painter Yarnell Abbott.
