Both velvet trimmed in gold galloon and appliquÃ©d with cutout polychrome silk embroidery in forbidden stitch with couched metallic gold threads, having initials in gold threads, originally used as lace sample books, samples removed, 11 x 12 x 1: One blue (losses to couching, some staining) good; one red (minor thread loss) very good. Together with a lot of 22 lace samples removed from books, 1908- 1938, including French, Irish, Swiss and Belgian samples, mostly handkerchiefs. Fair-excellent. FIT
