Strauser was a self-taught artist who worked in the expressionist/impressionist styles, later evolving into what askArt describes as “an assertive Klee-like modernism.” He illustrated for “Mademoiselle” magazine and “Unicorn-A Magazine of Poetry". Strauser was quick to influence the artsthroughout the Pocono Region, both as well-known collectors and promoters of folk and outsider art. Strauser’s art is included in the permanent collections of the American Museum in Bath, England; along with several museums throughout the United States.
