Artist Biography: Ralph de Burgos was a Washington, D.C artist and founder of two art schools: the de Burgos School of Art in Georgetown and another art school in Falls Church. De Burgos studied at the National Academy of Design, the Art Students League, the School of Industrial Arts, and the Arthur Schweider School of Modern Painting. He exhibited widely including the Capitol building and in various U.S. embassies. He also restored and refinished the portraits of 32 presidents of Georgetown University and in 1958 completed a mural for St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Washington. De Burgos was a president of the Society of Washington Artists and of the American Art League. Condition: No noted damage.
