FIRST EDITION of the narrative of Duke d'Abruzzi's last major expedition in which his team climbed the southeast ridge of K2 to 6,700m, now known as the Abruzzi Spur; completed the mapping of the upper Baltoro Glacier; and set an altitude record on Chogolisa of 7,500m, just 150m short of the summit (a record unbroken until Everest in 1922). This is Vittorio Sella's finest work of the most dramatic scenery photographed on his expeditions with the Duke, especially his panoramas of the Baltoro.
