Description
For your consideration Mula Ben-Haim. Shmuel (Mula) Ben Haim, Israeli painter. Born in Lida, Poland. 1916-1993. He studied at the Fine Arts School in Vilna. Ben-Haim served as an officer in World War II. He immigrated to the Land of Israel in 1947 and settled on Kibbutz Hama'apil. He joined the Haganah and fought in the Israeli War of Independence. He continued his art studies at the Avni Institute in Tel Aviv and the Grand Chaumiere in Paris. In 1962-1965, he served as a cultural attache at the Israeli Embassy in Moscow. In 1972, a permanent show of his work opened at the Artists Colony in Safed. Muli Ben-Haim is known for his murals, among them a mural at the Israeli Mission to the United States in New York and a mosaic mural at the guest house of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.
