Details: This is an authentic Black Forest German Cuckoo/Quail Clock Case that has been converted to a battery powered mechanism.

Clock Type: Cuckoo/Quail Clock Case with Battery Powered Mechanism

Approximate Height: The case measures approximately 18" from the tip of its crown to the bottom of its frame.

Model History & Features: Similarly styled cuckoo clock cases have been produced for more than 100 hundred years. Interestingly, a "D" battery powered mechanism is attached to the hands from inside the case. This clock may have been modified to function without requiring weights.

Running?: No

Condition: This piece is simply a case and crown with an interesting battery feature - it does not come with a movement, cuckoo birds, weights, a pendulum, a gong, or chains. Moderate to significant corrosion is visible where the "D" battery is attached and repairs that had been made to the crown have let go--the top bird is separated from the crown. A minor hairline crack is visible on the bottom of the frame near the nesting bird. The case is in very good condition overall and is likely best suited for a unique restoration project.
Condition / Notes: The condition of this piece as stated above is accurate at the time of cataloging. The case may require some adjustment, tuning, or minor maintenance upon receipt.
