This beautiful handmade fan, believed to be circa 1890, is fashioned from brass and heavy paper. The people in the picture have been embellished with faces painted onto chips of shell or porcelain. The body of the fan is adorned with cloisonne and gilt paint.

Condition / Notes: This antique fan shows beautifully and displays some age/wear indications such as loss of color at the folds in the paper and soiling. It folds up nicely or lays flat for display and appears to have undergone repair in the distant past.
