Condition
In overall good condition, with the expected scuffs and bumps consistent with age. The wooden handle
is probably a later replacement, and there are some tiny reinforcements soldered to the retaining pinholes
on the upper boss. Moderate wear to the high relief, most notably on the rim and the handle mounts.
Hallmarked (on the underside) with: 1) the sterling lion passant; 2) the London crowned leopard's head; 3)
the date letter "d" for 1819-1820; 4) the George III bust duty mark; and 5) the "PS" maker's mark of Paul
Storr. The underside of the lid part-marked with the lion passant, date letter and maker's mark. Marks
very good.
