Central Asia, India, ca. 19th to early 20th century CE. A delightful cast bronze figure of Garuda, depicted here with the emphasis on his human features - aside from his large wings, long, thin tail, and tall headdress. Garuda is a mythical human-bird hybrid who serves as the Hindu god Vishnu's vahana (mount). Size: 2" W x 2.7" H (5.1 cm x 6.9 cm)
