A FAMILLE ROSE FALANCAI STYLE ENAMELED PORCELAIN POEM BRUSH WASHER WATER OR ALMS BOWL, IN THE QING DYNASTY (1644-1912) TASTE, the inverted rim with an underglaze, blue, repeating hexagonal motif edge, over a globular body with an enameled scene of four boys at play in a garden, one in a pink and green trimmed robe holds a pair of pomegranates in one hand and toad in the other, teasing a younger boy in a blue robe, another boy holds a plate of chrysanthemums, and the last in a yellow robe runs excitedly into the scene with a knotted jade pendant; a traditional wish for many sons, opposed by a ten line poem in black script with three red seals, ending in stylized feather motif band, verso a six character Qianlong (1736-1795) style blue underglaze mark. Height: 4 1/4 Diameter: 6"

Some darkening of unglazed foot, mild wear and losses to enamel, but overall in very good condition, wear commensurate with age.
