Description
A DRESDEN PARCEL GILT ENAMELED RETICULATED PORCELAIN CENTER BOWL, SCHIERHOLZ PORCELAIN MANUFACTURER, PLAUE, THURINGIA, GERMANY, LAST HALF 19TH CENTURY, the everted, serpentine rim over reticulated lattice sides with rococo reserves, flanked by winged putti carrying symbols of spring, over a Baroque style graduated pink and green shell bowl base, raised on a circular, tapered socle ending in four scroll form feet, the whole encrusted with relief flower blooms and leafy tendrils, verso a blue underglaze double crossed marks, impressed "Germany," and numbers 350 and 1, with hand written number 45. Height: 12 1/2" Diameter: 16"
Condition
Some apparent repairs, mild losses, gilt and paint rubbing and losses, general surface wear, dust debris, but overall in good to very good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
