He tries several times to win the Prix de Rome , without success.He directed the Museum of Fine Arts and Archeology of Besançon from 1834 and the school of painting and sculpture of the city in 1840 and participates in major royal sets,including those of the State Council at the Louvre Palace in Paris."-----------------------The family connection in the Lancrenon family to the John Miller Estate in NYC is as follows:Joseph-Ferdinand Lancrenon gave birth to three children, one was Marie Josephe Mangenot.Marie’s direct descendants were Cardine Suzanne and Leon Mathet.Their children included Marie Therese de Rugerio, whose daughter Collette married John Miller, United Nations diplomat.
