This is an ORIGINAL VINTAGE, DOUBLE STRAND NECKLACE of SALTWATER CULTURED PEARLS with a DIAMOND & SAPPHIRE CLASP. This COCKTAIL necklace was made during the 1980s and it ORIGINATES FROM GERMANY. The clasp is HANDMADE from 14K YELLOW GOLD with 14K WHITE GOLD around the diamond settings. It is tension-set with 6 BRILLIANT CUT DIAMONDS of F color, VVS to VS clarity that weigh approx. .32 ctw. The clasp is centrally bezel-set with 1 NATURAL BLUE SAPPHIRE that is a CABOCHON CUT weighing approx. 2.20 ctw. The sapphire measures approx. 8.7 x 6.9 mm. The clasp measures almost 1-11/16” long by 5/8” wide and it is 7/16” at the thickest point. A VERY SPECIAL FEATURE to this clasp is how the pearl strand are attached. It has a push and twist mechanism so that the strands can easily be removed and reattached to the clasp. Perfect for cleaning the clasp without harming the pearls! FABULOUS DESIGN & QUALITY!

There are 2 STRANDS of SALTWATER CULTURED WHITE PEARLS made up of 102 PEARLS. The pearls measure 7.97 - 8.56 mm, and only 2 are under 8 mm. Since the pearls are uniform in size, you can wear the clasp to the front if you want to display it. These pearls have a very light creamy hue with pink overtones. They have very few minor blemishes that you must intently look for and they have beautiful luster. The necklace is PRINCESS to MATINEE LENGTH with the strands measuring 19-3/8” and 20” long, and the pearls are PERFECTLY MATCHED! The clasp weighs 14.7 grams and the pearls weigh 78.1 grams, making the total necklace weight 92.8 grams. The string is in great condition too.
